The scenic drive passes through Rangpo (Sikkim border), Teesta River valley, and offers beautiful mountain views. Many travelers also reach by road from Siliguri/Darjeeling. Indian nationals do not require permits to enter Gangtok or stay in Sikkim. However, Inner Line Permits (ILP) are mandatory for visiting protected areas like Tsomgo Lake, Nathula Pass, North Sikkim (Lachung, Lachen), and other restricted zones.
