Colourful Entrance Decor
An arch or gateway inspired by Rajasthani architectural openings, in marigold, royal blue and terracotta.
Theme Party · Convention India
Rajasthan's colour lives in its textiles, its archways and its music. We bring that world into your venue — marigold and royal blue drapes, patterned backdrops, warm lantern light and, if you like, live folk performance — around your occasion, guests and budget.
The Idea
It borrows its details from Rajasthan's craft traditions — the arch of a jharokha window, the dotted grid of bandhani, the slanting stripes of leheriya, mirror-work borders and the glow of brass lamps — and turns them into decor you can stage in a banquet hall, lawn, farmhouse or terrace.
It is not about recreating a fort; it is about changing how a room feels, using a confident palette, patterned fabric, arches and folk performance with some restraint.
Because it runs on a few strong elements — one backdrop, an entrance, textile-covered seating, coordinated tables, considered lighting — the same theme fits forty guests at home or several hundred at a hotel.
Decoration Ideas
These are the elements we plan with most often. Combine them freely — a few done well always beats all of them at once.
An arch or gateway inspired by Rajasthani architectural openings, in marigold, royal blue and terracotta.
Repeated arch shapes in fabric or painted panels, photographing well without needing much else.
Dotted and striped fabrics bring pattern into the scheme as drapes, runners or cushion covers.
Ceiling drapes, tent-style fabric channels and floor cushions soften large, plain halls.
Traditional-style lanterns, hanging lamps and low string lights create the evening mood.
Painted or printed panels with folk-art motifs fill long, empty walls economically.
Arch silhouettes, mirror-work accents and coordinated drapery give the stage one focal point.
Patterned runners, brass-toned centrepieces and matching napkins carry the palette to the dining area.
A small arch frame, colourful props, low seating and good side lighting for guest photographs.
How to choose: pick four to six coordinated elements — entrance, main backdrop, seating textiles, lighting and tables — and leave the rest of the venue quiet. Filling every wall makes the palette look messy and spends money that could have gone into better fabric, lighting or sound.
Occasions
The theme stays the same; the decor scale, entertainment and dining change with the occasion and the audience.
Bright and light on formality — a colourful backdrop, a themed cake table, photo props and a short performance.
Richer fabric, mirror-work detailing, dedicated stage decor and a fuller folk ensemble, planned around the rituals.
Mehendi and sangeet suit a courtyard look — low seating, cushions, drapes, dhol, with space left for dancing.
A restrained version: well-lit stage, arch frames, floral accents and quiet instrumental music.
Comfortable seating, warm lighting and a menu for a mixed age group, with entertainment kept optional.
Festive but brand-safe — theme through colour, entrance decor and a cultural slot, with branding given its own clean space.
Planned around the performance, with stage size, sound, sightlines and artist needs fixed early.
Small family get-togethers where a focused backdrop, a couple of elements and good catering are enough.
Entrance & Stage
The entrance sets expectations and the stage holds attention, so these two areas deserve the largest share of the decoration budget. At the entrance: a fabric or frame arch, a patterned side panel, a welcome detail such as a decorated pot or flowers, and lighting that keeps faces readable in photographs.
For the stage: a fabric backdrop with arch or jharokha-style frames, coordinated seating for hosts, patterned cushions, floral accents and warm angled light rather than flat white. Props such as painted panels or a decorated cart work only if the room can carry them.
We also confirm what the venue permits. Banquets and hotels often restrict hanging points, nails, open flame and outside vendors, and that shapes the plan from day one.
Palette
Choose one combination and repeat it across the entrance, stage, seating and dining areas. Consistency is what makes decor look designed rather than gathered.
Royal Blue & Marigold
Terracotta & Ivory
Pink & Mustard
Turquoise & Warm Gold
Multicolour on Neutral
Keeping it balanced: let one colour lead, one support it, and let ivory or cream rest the eye. Use the strongest colour on the stage and entrance, repeat it smaller on the dining tables, and keep walls, ceilings and floors neutral so the textiles stand out.
Entertainment
Rajasthan's folk traditions come from distinct communities and regions and are not interchangeable. Folk music of western Rajasthan often features instruments such as the ravanhatta, morchang, kartal, sarangi and dholak, played by hereditary musician communities. Kalbeliya, a dance form of Rajasthan, is inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (2010).
We arrange performances through artist coordinators and confirm the repertoire, duration, regional context and suitability for your audience before booking. For a lighter evening, a solo instrumental set or a folk-fusion act may fit better.
Food & Dining
The dining area is where the theme feels most complete, because colour and pattern carry naturally onto tables — patterned runners, brass-toned centrepieces, fabric-covered chairs, low seating and menu cards in the same palette.
The menu is your call. A Rajasthani-influenced menu works well, but keeping your regular cuisine and letting the decor carry the theme works just as well.
Whatever the venue and caterer confirm for your event is shared with you in writing, so there is no guesswork on the day.
Venue
This theme needs room for fabric, arches and movement. A few checks early on save expensive changes later.
Seated, standing and dance-floor space calculated separately.
Lawns suit the look, but need a covered fallback in case of rain.
Arch width, backdrop height and ceiling clearance measured in advance.
Existing points, power load and whether a generator is required.
Kitchen access, permitted vendors and separate serving areas.
How easily guests arrive, and how older guests move around inside.
Hanging points, no-drill rules and the venue's setup time window.
Tents or indoor fallbacks for outdoor plans, weighed against venue charges.
Note: we do not keep a fixed venue list or published rates. Availability, capacity, restrictions and charges change, so we confirm them with the venue for your specific date before committing to a plan.
Planning Services
As an event management team we can take the theme from concept to pack-down: theme concept and design, entrance and stage decoration, seating and furniture arrangements, lighting and sound coordination, entertainment and artist coordination, catering coordination where requested, vendor management, and event-day setup with on-ground execution.
An enquiry is not a booking. Each item above is optional unless it appears in your confirmed quotation, and that quotation is built from your requirements — date, venue, guest count, decor scope, entertainment and catering.
If you only need decoration, or only stage and lighting, that is a valid scope too. Tell us what you are keeping in-house and we will plan around it.
Budget
There is no single rate for this theme. Cost moves with the factors below, and your quotation is itemised.
Size and location of the venue, plus guest count, drive seating, catering and staffing.
How many areas are decorated, and how detailed the fabric, arches and floral work is.
Bespoke fabrication costs more than hired or reused elements — both can look good.
Backdrop build, stage height, lighting design, sound system and power arrangements.
Number of performers, performance length and travel influence this part most.
Menu selection, service format and the number of live counters you plan for.
Photography, videography, transport, accommodation or gifting, if you want them included.
Peak-season dates and long weekends affect vendor availability and pricing.
How pricing works: we do not publish fixed packages or indicative prices for this theme, because an honest number depends on your venue, guest count and decor scope. Share your requirements and we will send a customised quotation listing every inclusion.
Step by Step
Six steps, in this order — each one makes the next faster and cheaper to execute.
Fix what you are celebrating and when; the date affects venue and artist availability.
An approximate head count and a realistic budget range shape every decision after this.
Check entry, stage space, lighting, permissions and parking before confirming.
Lock one colour combination and the four to six decor elements you want most.
Book artists, host, photography or catering add-ons once the guest profile is clear.
Approve the quotation, align timelines with the venue and leave the setup to us.
FAQs
A Rajasthani Theme Party is a celebration styled around Rajasthan's visual and festive traditions — royal blue and marigold palettes, patterned fabrics, arches and jharokha-style frames, warm lantern light and, if you wish, folk music and dance. It is a styling idea rather than a fixed format, so the same theme works for a birthday at home, a wedding function or a corporate annual evening.
Colourful textiles and drapes, decorative arches, a patterned stage backdrop, cushions, traditional-style lanterns, folk-art panels and coordinated table settings all work well. Most rooms look better with five or six coordinated elements — an entrance, a backdrop, seating textiles, lighting and tables — than with decoration in every corner.
Birthdays, wedding functions and pre-wedding celebrations, engagement ceremonies, anniversaries, corporate events and private cultural evenings all suit the theme. Decor, entertainment and dining are adjusted to the occasion, the audience and the venue.
Cost depends on the venue and its size, the guest count, how detailed the decoration is, whether props and backdrops are custom-made, stage and lighting requirements, artist fees, catering and additional services such as photography or transport. Share your requirements and we will prepare a customised quotation.
Yes. A small celebration can use one arch-topped backdrop, a marigold and royal blue fabric grouping, floor cushions or low seating, warm lantern lighting and a compact photo corner. A few well-made elements usually look better than decoration spread thinly across a large hall.
